Mackerel & Sightseeing Trips

For several years now, we have been providing trips and outdoor learning experiences for many primary and secondary aged children, whilst on their residential trip to Swanage.

We understand too well, how children today are becoming increasingly separated from nature, and therefore we look for any opportunity to welcome school groups and we also work closely with some of the local outdoor education and activity providers including Cumulus Outdoors.

We can accommodate up to 27 children, plus 3 staff, across 3 boats for 1.5 hour Mackerel trips or sightseeing tours. In this time they can learn so much about where the fish they eat come from and get a demonstration on gutting and filleting the fish (or have a go themselves!) ready to be cooked later that evening on the camp fire. They sometimes love to hold mini competitions between the boats and some of the children we meet, have never even been to the seaside before.

In the event of windy weather and we can't get on the boats, we simply bring our crew ashore and we fish off Swanage pier, teaching basic fishing skills and catching many of the smaller species such as Wrass and Pollock.

Private Charters

Are you or your group wanting to collect data for conservation projects or maybe coursework? Do you work in media and require access to filming and photography of parts of the Jurassic coastline? Or maybe you want or need to organise a fishing competition between several fisherman?

We have had the privilege of taking out the BBC and famous chefs, to film and document for cooking programmes, based on local produce in Dorset.

We love taking out employers and their employees, for a little bit of team building fun because lets face it, we all need this at some point, even more so considering the disaster of 2020 and 2021... Is this something you could consider for your workplace?

What ever you require a private charter for, we can pretty much sort anything depending on tides and availability, so please do get in touch.
