Welcome to my logbook

09/01/2007

Hello my name is Tom, I am the skipper of the San Gina and San Gina II fishing vessels.

This section of the website is my logbook where you can read about my latest adventures on the high seas. Don’t worry I don’t have a pegleg or a pet parrot...yet! I keep my logbook updated with news from my recent fishing trips and competitions I have participated in. Have a read and get in contact if you would like to hire one of the boats and experience some real sea fishing!

A Day To Remember – 7th September 2007

26/09/2007

In my last entry, I mentioned that once the weather had settled down, we would soon head out to try and find a Shark! Well on the 7th September, we did just that (well, sort of anyway.) Two of my close friends, (Matt and James) booked the boat for a 9-5 with a bunch of lads from work.

English Summer!

11/07/2007

Well what can i say, I started my logs by saying that i was looking forward to wearing summer shorts, t-shirts and sun cream, but no its back to the floatation suits and strong wind warnings... Lad's Trip To Alderney - 19th April '07

02/05/2007

Me and a few close mates, some of whom are members of the Lifeboat crew, went on a lad's midweek wrecky trip to Alderney. The fishing was slightly disappointing, however the beer was not! We fished the wrecks on the way across the channel with very little success, which I put down to the very big spring tide at the time. Once we got to the Island, we fished the South banks off Alderney and caught Bass and Turbot. The best catch was an 8lb Turbot, caught by my good friend Gary who had never fished before (beginners luck or what!)

Summer Season

02/05/2007

Hello, sorry I haven’t updated this in a while, I’ve been very busy working on San Gina in preparation for the summer season ahead, and squeezing in as many trips as possible on San Gina Π! In my last entry I said I was waiting for the summer to start and the fishing to pick up, and it has been by far, one of the best Aprils I’ve had with some great catches of Bream. Some of the Bream weighing over 4lbs and sessions exceeding over a hundred fish! Amongst the Bream we have also had a nice mixture of Thornback, Spotted and Undulate Rays weighing up to 19lbs.
